Task & Finish Groups
TASK & FINISH GROUPS
Task and Finish Groups were set up in January 2008 to scope out the collaborative actions that are required to deliver the five strategic priorities in the Greater Essex Economic Framework (GEEF). These priorities have also informed the Essex Strategy and the economic targets in the refreshed Local Area Agreements (LAA2) for Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
The Task and Finish Groups were small and focussed with technical and administrative support from ExDRA. They were chaired by a business champion and comprised public, private and community sector representatives who have specialist expertise, experience and capacity to contribute to:
Scoping current delivery by the public, private and community sectors;
Assessing the gaps and perceived barriers to delivering the GEEF strategic priorities;
Selecting and delivering two or three key actions that require collaborative effort by a range of partners to address pan-Essex issues and to focus resources spatially to bring areas that are falling behind up to the standard of the best performing areas.
The Task & Finish Groups completed their business in April and the actions they recommended are being taken forward largely through the LAA2 process. Draft action plans for the economic targets in Essex LAA2 will be posted on this site at the end of August. Meanwhile, progress in developing the Task & Finish Groups’ ideas is reported to the GEPF Governing Board.
