2006 Shell Step programme starts

A record number of Essex companies have signed up to the 2006 Shell Step programme in Essex which is now underway.
Some 45 students are carrying out a range of projects in Essex companies during an eight week period this Summer. 42 Essex companies are taking part in the programme this year, which culminates with an awards ceremony at the Waterfront Restaurant on the evening of 23rd August.
Students taking part this year will hope to follow in the footsteps of Steven Byford who won the title of Most Enterprising Student in Essex 2005 following his work with the Dengie Project Trust to develop a telephone befriending service for the elderly.
