Towards 2010
Towards 2010
Towards 2010 was a £4.5m sector-based funding initiative managed by the Essex Development & Regeneration Agency and funded by the European Social Fund and East of England Development Agency. Businesses within the target sectors could apply for up to 70% of the cost of training that had been agreed in a training needs analysis with a specialist sector advisor.
Towards 2010 assisted nearly 2,400 businesses to train over 8,800 of their staff in areas that made a tangible difference to business performance. This far exceeded its original tender target of 600 businesses and 4850 employees. With Towards 2010 funding businesses had access to training opportunities that they would otherwise not have been able to afford.
Following on from the success of Towards 2010 ExDRA now manage the Beyond 2010 programme. Beyond 2010 is helping SMEs in the East of England to harness their full potential by providing sector specific training advice and funding. It also includes the Response to Redundancy programme which provides information, advice and re-training opportunities to individuals facing redundancy.
