Essex Innovation Programmes

What are the Essex Innovation Programmes?

Innovation – the successful commercialisation of new ideas – is vital if we are to see our economy grow stronger and witness the emergence of a new generation of businesses able to compete in the international marketplace. The Essex Innovation Programmes, therefore, is working to create the best possible environment within Essex, Thurrock and Southend, that allows both new and existing businesses to exploit to the full potential of their new ideas and creativity.

The Essex Innovation Programmes offers a range of support under two programmes, 'New Ideas', for entrepreneurs and startup's, & 'Developing Innovative Businesses' for early stage and existing businesses. Open Innovation Conference

Date: 21 January 2009

This year's Open Innovation Conference is an unrivalled opportunity for entrepreneurs, businesses, innovation centres, enterprise hubs, networks, research institutions and multinationals to come together.

The conference is directed toward corporates, SMEs and entrepreneurs, research scientists and academics, looking to build new businesses based on breakthrough technologies and innovation.

It is also highly relevant for managers responsible for creating long-term business growth in an open innovation context, those involved in new product development, internal and external venturing, incubator and innovation centre management, and funders of innovation support programmes.

We've secured a roster of exceptional speakers from UK Technology Strategy Board, Unilever, GSK, Microsoft UK, BT Group, Philips, Kodak and Marks & Spencer - who are leading the way in adopting Open Innovation as a core part of their business model for the future.

Delegates will be involved in debates on how to achieve profitable growth through innovation and have the opportunity to take part in innovation masterclasses led by some of Europe's leading practitioners in their field.

We are offering a limited number of outstanding business development opportunities to businesses and entrepreneurs who put themselves forward for a short private 1:1 meeting with our VIP speakers during the conference - ensuring that they will get right in at the top of the organisations involved!
