ExDRA focuses on the emerging environmental technologies

As part of its drive to support key emerging growth sectors, ExDRA is working closely with partners Envirolink UK and UKTI to achieve recognition of the technological excellence present in Greater Essex in this field. A mapping study in 2003 highlighted over 700 businesses in this sector across Essex, Thurrock and Southend, arguably more than in any other sub-region of the UK.
Through its role in the Essex Innovation Network, ExDRA has been able to attract funding to undertake a more in-depth study of those businesses that appeared to offer higher growth potential, due to their technical prowess and understanding of global markets. The culmination of this work has been the production of a DvD highlighting footage of a number of these businesses. These DvDs have been distributed through the UK’s network of overseas embassies and high commissions and are used frequently to demonstrate to international delegations that Greater Essex is the home for businesses at the forefront of technological advances.
