2005/2006 Essex local economy report

Kemsley, Whitely and Ferris, a local commercial property company, have just published their annual report on the Essex and Thames Gateway local economy. The report draws some interesting conclusions regarding the office and industrial markets in Essex and looks forward to future prospects in the commercial property market.

Essex Business Directory launched

A brand new directory containing key information about over 6,000 Essex businesses has been published by the Essex Development & Regeneration Agency (ExDRA).

Structured alphabetically by business sector, the Essex Business Directory is sure to be an essential business to business tool for Essex companies and businesses further afield. In addition to the detailed business information, the Directory also provides a wealth of useful information about the many business support services available in the County.

The Directory, which has been published in printed and CD ROM formats, provides the following information for every business listed:

•    Business name, address and key organisation contact
•    Telephone, fax, email and web addresses (where known)
•    Year of establishment
•    Size of company (by size band) and turnover (by size band)
•    Brief description of company activity

Paul O’Brien, Chief Executive of ExDRA, said “Essex has always provided an excellent location for businesses to thrive. The County supports a fantastic range of businesses across all sectors, many of whom are listed in the new Essex Business Directory. I am confident that the Directory will prove to be an excellent business to business tool for Essex companies.”

Councillor Peter Martin, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Planning, Environment and Culture at Essex County Council, who commissioned the production of the Directory, is confident about the benefits that it will have. He said, “In today’s business environment it is critical that businesses have access to good quality, up to date information. The Essex Business Directory provides this in a variety of accessible formats that I’m sure will assist business in the County to grow and prosper.”

The price of the printed directory and read only CD ROM is just £56 (including p&p). Essex businesses enjoy 10% discount and can purchase the Directory and CD ROM for £50.40. The CD ROM can be upgraded to a powerful business support and marketing tool enabling the functionality to compile and print reports, perform mailshots, print address labels and much, much more! The cost to upgrade the CD, which involves a simple procedure to purchase an activation code,  providing a full range of useful business functionality, is £175.08 (£157.57 for Essex businesses).
