What is the China programme of activity?
China is set to become the world’s largest economy. The development of this major economic powerhouse offers significant opportunities for Essex businesses and ExDRA is leading on activity to make positive business connections between the Region and China.
A close relationship between Essex and Jiangsu Province (bordering Shanghai, on the thriving east coast of China) has developed over the last 18 years. This was made possible through Essex County Council and the Provincial Government of Jiangsu working closely on a variety of activities that has included trade missions and educational exchanges.
ExDRA is developing the economic dimension of this relationship, advising key business sectors on its market potential and promoting inward investment from China, alongside Essex County Council, East of England International and the China Britain Business Council. The Agency has China experts based in-house in Chelmsford, including a trade representative from the Jiangsu Department for Foreign Trade and Economic Co-Operation plus a representative office in Nanjing City, in the heart of the booming Yangtze River Delta area.

A FREE event for established businesses in Essex
The quest for new ideas, and ‘unique selling points’ by an increasing number of companies
offering the same products and services, is intensifying.
There’s a need, more than ever, to find distinction and variation, to be different and make improvements in order to retain the competitive edge, and stand out from the crowd.
This workshop will focus on what needs to be done at conception of a new product or
service, in order to achieve effective design. It will also include:
• The wider process of developing new products and services.
• How to clearly communicate what is required, i.e. features and functions, the
technical aspect, packaging.
• How to place consumer’s aspirations at the forefront of the entire design
procedure to enable you to reflect the emotions of the customer through the
design solution.
• Understanding the designer’s role.
• Effective practices to help yield better designed products and services for the
future.
• Finding the ‘edge’ in a competitive sales climate – and staying ahead.
Delegates will receive a FREE workbook and a buffet lunch will be provided.
