What is ExDRA?

The Essex Development & Regeneration Agency (ExDRA) is a key leader of economic and social development in Essex. By working with a range of partners in the County and the East of England, ExDRA leads on and contributes to a variety of unique projects that will have far reaching benefits to residents, businesses and visitors in Essex.

ExDRA was established in 2004 and was created from the merger of the former Enterprise and Regeneration Division of Essex County Council and the Essex Economic Partnership (one of nine sub regional economic partnerships in the East of England).

Our primary partners and funders are Essex County Council and the East of England Development Agency. We work closely with both these organisations to achieve shared objectives. Close partnership working is part of our everyday ethos and is central to ensuring that resources are used efficiently and the greatest impact can be made for Essex residents, businesses and visitors.

ExDRA’s range of work is diverse and exciting – from developing trade links with India to delivering skills programmes on behalf of the East of England, ExDRA is playing a major role in the delivery of economic development strategy across Essex and the wider region.
