Community & Skills Development
Communities are at the heart of every day life and ExDRA is contributing to a range of activity in Essex that will help build sustainable communities into the future ensuring that all people in Essex have access to a range of social and economic opportunities.
By working in partnership with a range of other bodies and organisations with community development as one of their priorities ExDRA is taking the lead on delivering a number of projects that contribute to community development.
In the coming years ExDRA will be delivering the Investing in Communities programme for Mid and West Essex in partnership with the East of England Development Agency and the European Social Fund programme in conjunction with Essex County Council.
Other areas of work are also contributing to the development of Essex communities. sportessex, the Essex, Southend and Thurrock County Sports partnership is hosted within ExDRA and will be leading the strategic development of sport in the County. Sport is a major contributor to community development and with London 2012 on the doorstep of Essex local communities have much to offer and gain from sports development.
The Essex Innovation Network and Essex Enterprise Centres provide local people with an opportunity to develop innovative ideas and businesses and our work with the Essex Rural Partnership is ensuring that rural communities in Essex are able to prosper too.
Successful communities enhance people’s quality of life and enable them to reach their full potential. ExDRA is committed to ensuring that it makes a valuable contribution to community development in Essex and will continue to identify opportunities that can help achieve this in the coming years.
